Try gently rinsing the root system, pot, etc. w/ tepid water to wash away the excess fertilizer. It may help to soak the whole pot and rooting support (spaghnum moss, etc.) in tepid - 70-75 degrees F - water as well to help with this. The idea is to wash away the extra fertilizer before it can do more harm.Sounds like fertilizer "burn". If you sprayed the leaves as well, rinse them as well. Wouldn't be a bad idea to change the moss, etc. with fresh. When I fertilize, I use a dilute mix I keep in a gallon plastic jug, kept at room temperature. Fertilize once every 4 to 5 waterings. Orchids are a bit tougher then many think and it may pull through well. Just remember to be on the conservative side with the light it receives while it recovers.
Reply:Try to pull the plant out of the pot, and rinse the roots very well, then replace the medium, and do not fertilize for a month or two, orchids do not hold fertilizer long, give it the same care but measure the fertilizer and only fertilze every month.
