Will my orchid survive?
If there are flower buds on the spike (flower stem) the buds may mature and still bloom so you can just leave it as it is. If your orchid is a phalaenopsis, cut the spike down to a length where there are about 2-3 nodes remaining. Phalaenopsis orchids have a habit of producing side branches on their spikes that may produce blooms. So do some Arandas, Ranantheras, and Mokaras.
Reply:If he bit the stem in half I would say that the flower will not survive.. and I would cut it off....there is a website for orchids.com
Reply:give it enough water...that will guarantee its survival
