When I first bought my orchid, it bloomed with flowers. At the end of the season, the stem dried up and died and broken off. It's been more than a year now, only the leaves grew healthy and green and still no stem.....
I have repotted every year too.
Anyone know how to grow orchids? Can an orchid grow a new stem?????
Leave it root bound, water weekly, you don't have to mist at all and don't fertilize often, maybe every six months. Yes, they will send up new stems.
First, don't re-pot it, second it sounds like you have an issue with light. I grow ours in a south window. People can't get over the blooms. I had the very same plants in an east window %26amp; they did exactly what yours are doing. Healthy looking green leaves and that was it. The lighting made the difference for me. Mine bloom year aroung now.
Reply:don't re pot ...they like to be a bit pot bound ...feed with a recommended orchid feed and keep it misted over once a day ..don't over water it let it dry out before re-watering..this should help to encourage new flower stems...it might take a year or so ...but if its green then its still OK
