i jus ordered a Pink Ribbon Bromeliad and the care instructions are listed for a Phalaenopsis. i contacted the vendor and they said it was an orchid, however, nothing on the net that I can find confirms this.
the care instructions for the 2 plants are totally different, i dont want it to die, so i am curious to the answer
Is a Bromeliad a type of orchid?
Pink ribbon bromeliad is NOT an orchid .
All bromeliads and all orchids are not epiphytic .
Your bromeliad is a terrestrial one and hence easy to look after .

Reply:Definitely no, because bromeliads and orchids have different families.... Just treat your new plant like a bromeliad so that it will survive well, cause you said it was a pink ribbon bromeliad....
Reply:The bromeliads are bromeliads, but you care like an orchid, because it is an epiphitic species of the forest.
