How do you sow terrestrial orchid seeds?

I have a near ripe bamboo orchid seed pod and I was just wondering if I just deposit the seeds in soil or culture them in sterile conditions. Please help me!

How do you sow terrestrial orchid seeds?
Orchid seeds only contain the angiosperm and no food reserve unlike most other seeds. You will be very lucky to germinate them from seed. A professional grower I know uses a fungal culture and bananas as part of her potting medium to germinate the seed.
Reply:orchids are extremely hard to start, unless you are a master gardener and specialize in orchids. orchids require a very particular fungus to germinate and fertilize the seeds that come from that funny shaped pod you get off them. if you really want to save the pod go ahead but take it to like your local university or extension office to find someone that can help you. there are many more things that an orchid requires because they are very fickel and require lots of care and procedures. good luck.
