last night I rescued an orchid from my restaurant which was on its way out. It was used for a wedding, so I believe it's a high quality since the family owned a greenhouse/shop. The plant is upright, attached to a stake with a few clips. It is white with yellow center, has about four or five blooms on it. The leaves are not slimy, and the basket it is in seems to need water. I have watered it sparingly nervous to drown it. It is in my kitchen with full sun during the day. I don't know what to do... re-pot it? feed it something special? put it in the bathroom for moisture, or keep it out of the sun?
I want to keep this plant, so I figured I'd ask help!
How do I care for my orchid?
It is either a phalaenopsis or a cattleya. You are not giving enough information to identify.
If it is a phalaenopsis - don't expose to direct sunlight.
See source for tips on growing popular orchids.
Reply:aahhh, right this is gna be very rough and probably not much help if im honest, id jst google them, but anyways, a friend of my mum mentioned re-potting them if they stop blooming and doing something to their roots... lmao, that was rubbish help, especially since urs has flowers!
Anyways, just google orchid care, hope it grows and stays well, they're lovely to look at xxx
Reply:In the summer, I put ice cubes on top of the soil.
But here, read up on it.
