The very bottom of my White Phalaenopsis Orchid stem is brown. But i still have three flowers on my stem. Someone had said that i caused crown rot and that i should give up on the plant because crown rot is usually fatal. The leaves are green and strong. The stem itself is green with some yellowing in it. Should I really give up on it and buy a new one? Or can this one be saved?

stems dont last forever. that will die and you will be left with roots and leaves. your leaves will remain very strong and grow beautifully, then one will grow new leaves.
even if you were sure the plant would die, you never know and should keep it till its last moments
Reply:I don't think you have a problem. Spikes and flowers only last so long and then dry off.
So long as the newest leaves are clean and free of spots or tissue damage, the plant is doing OK.
